Our Materials

Every Eskae artifact is crafted from high-grade .925 Sterling Silver.

To ensure your piece remains a lasting relic, we use specific finishes depending on the design:

  • .925 Sterling Silver: Our base material is a precious metal chosen for its brilliant luster and its ability to be safely adjusted to the contours of your body.

  • Rhodium Plating: Select pieces are finished with a layer of Rhodium. This rare, precious metal from the platinum family provides an extremely hard, protective surface that resists tarnishing and maintains a bright, white-gold-like shine.

  • Hypoallergenic: We use nickel-free alloys, making our pieces suitable for most sensitive skin types.

Care Rituals

Sterling silver is a living metal that can develop a unique patina over time. To maintain the "relic" finish of your jewelry, follow these rituals:

1. Using Your Polishing Cloth We provide a professional silver polishing cloth with every order to help you maintain your piece.

  • For Sterling Silver: Use the cloth to gently buff away natural oxidation and restore the original shine.

  • For Rhodium Plated Pieces: Use only a very soft, dry microfiber cloth or the provided cloth with extremely light pressure. Because rhodium is a plating, aggressive rubbing can eventually wear the layer down.

2. Avoid the "3 S’s" To prevent damage or accelerated tarnishing, remove your jewelry before:

  • Swimming: Chlorine and salt water are harsh on both silver and plating.

  • Sweating: Remove pieces during intense physical activity.

  • Steaming/Showering: Humidity and chemicals in soaps or shampoos can dull the finish over time.

3. Cosmetic Safety Apply lotions, perfumes, and hairsprays before putting on your jewelry. The chemicals in these products can cause the metal to darken or affect the plating.

Cleaning & Hygiene

Because our jewelry often interfaces directly with the face, regular cleaning is essential for both the metal's beauty and your comfort.

  • Routine Cleaning: Use a small amount of mild, antibacterial soap and warm water. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry immediately with a lint-free cloth.

  • Face Sets: We recommend cleaning your face and nose artifacts weekly with a saline solution or mild soap to prevent natural oil buildup.

Storage

To slow down the natural oxidation process, proper storage is essential.

  • Airtight is Best: When not in use, store your jewelry in a cool, dry, airtight environment (such as a small zip-lock bag or a lined jewelry box) away from direct sunlight.

  • Separation: Keep pieces separate to avoid surface scratches from other jewelry.

  • Dryness: Ensure the jewelry is completely dry before storing it.

A Note on Longevity

Sterling silver is malleable by design, allowing you to adjust the fit to your body. However, please use gentle pressure only. Repeatedly or aggressively bending the metal at the same point will fatigue the material over time. Treat your piece as a delicate artifact, and it will last a lifetime.
